Mrs. Janice Beth Barton, age 83, of Adairsville, went to her heavenly home February 29, 2024, with her loving family at her side.

Janice was born in Rocky, Oklahoma, December 2, 1940, daughter of the late Wilson Morris and Pauline White Morris. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Ernie Barton. Janice was a member of Adairsville Church of Christ. She and her mother were baptized into Christ on the same day when she was a teenager. The family moved to Arizona soon after. She graduated from Chandler High School in 1958. After graduating her and the love of her life, Ernie Barton married in 1960. In 1976, Janice, Ernie and their children moved to Adairsville, Georgia. She began working at Walmart in Calhoun in 1989 and was employed there until she retired 26 years later. Her greatest joys were serving Christ, spending time with family, laughing, and being with her church family.

She is survived by her children, Randy Barton (Vicky), Scott Barton (Nadine) Jeremy Barton (Amy) and Jennifer Teems; grandchildren, Alison Jolly (Thad), Kassidy Brown, Jesse Barton (Lindsey), Jessica Stewart, Kristin Barton, Allie Barton, Gabby Barton, and Adrian Barton; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Gary Morris and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Janice's life will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 3:00pm at the Adairsville Church of Christ. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00pm until 3:00pm at the church.
