Ms. Jean Scott Smith, age 86, of Griffin, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at her residence.

She was born in Huntington Park, CA, July 14, 1933, daughter of the late Belah Paul Scott and Clara Adelle Hightower Scott. Mrs. Smith was a member of First United Methodist Church of Griffin and loved her church family. She enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchilren. She retired from Georgia Power. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Looney;

Survivors include her daughter, Marianne James; son, Paul and Audrey Kelley; grandchildren, Megan Wesley and Richard, Tori Selph and Jeremy, Gabe Selph and Bria, and Blaine Kelley and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Max, Kilby, Jeb, Sam, and Gabby; brothers, Jim Scott and Father Philip Scott.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Alan Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cartersville. Family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
