Mr. Jerry Brownie Harris, age 71, of Rocking R. Ranch Circle, Summerville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Adairsville, GA, on April 26, 1942, son of the late Johnny and Izora Fowler Harris. Mr. Harris had been employed as a truck driver with Pilgrim's (formerly Goldkist) for over forty years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Dickie Harris and Frank Harris, and a sister, Marjorie Kufvorich.

Survivors include his wife, Retha Smith of Summerville; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Tina and Moheddine Bennani, and Tonia Harris, of Summerville; 5 grandchildren, Chris, Felicia, Jennifer, Tyler, and Brittany; 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Zachary, and Alyssa; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Towe Chapel Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers include Tyler Adams, Danny Long, David Zook, Paul Zook, Jonathan Bolton, and DeWayne Jones.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
