Mr. Jerry Fain Pelfrey, age 77 , of Hall Station Road, Adairsville passed away Monday, September 22, 2014, at Floyd Medical Center.

He was born in Bartow County, August 8, 1937, son of the late Jessie William Pelfrey and Lucille Wright Pelfrey Barton. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Adairsville, Adairsville Masonic Lodge #168 F&AM, and served in the United States National Guard. Jerry retired from Flowers Baking Company, where he started working a bread route to later becoming a president of the company in several locations. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard. His family will remember him as a devoted loving husband and the world's greatest father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, George Pelfrey, and Lelton Pelfrey.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Bessie Pelfrey of Adairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Dud Barton of Adairsville; grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Bunch of Adairsville, R.D., Jessica, and Jennifer Barton of FL; great-grandsons, Fain Edward Bunch of Adairsville and Shawn Barton of FL; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Richard Cowart of Adairsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church of Adairsville, Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Min. Danny Pelfrey officiating. The body will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Scott Pelfrey, Steve Cowart, Brian Cowart, Randy Baggett, and Randy Bramblett.

The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
