Obituary
Mrs. Jessie Mae Heath Smith, age 83, of Adairsville, passed away Saturday evening, January 20, 2018, at Cartersville Heights Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Kingston, GA, July 6, 1935, daughter of the late Dewey and Lillie Mae Hardin Heath. Mrs. Smith was of the Baptist Faith and had worked at CalMor for several years until its closing. She enjoyed sewing, coloring, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Allen Smith, two brothers, Albert Heath and Fred Heath, and three sisters, Rosa Mae Ghorley, Clara Bell Heath and Pauline Guyton, a daughter-in-law, Sissy Smith, and a great-grandaughter, Kelly Riffier.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Palmer Smith of Guild, TN and Tony and Tina Smith of Adairsville; a sister, Mary Jo Neal of Kingston; 7 grandchildren, Sonya Gordon, Kimberly Riffier, Brandy Hill, Candace Brown, Naomi Chancey, Jeremiah Smith and McKenzie Smith; 8 great-grandchildren, Haley Worley, Zachary Hill, Skylar Pack, Ashley Hill, Elizabeth Brown, Brooklyn Chancey, Lily Chancey, and Ann Marie Brown; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Brentley Worley and Reese Worley; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Adairsville.
Pallbearers include Skylar Pack, Zachary Hill, Tony Taylor, Allan Hill, Tommy Young and Jeremiah Smith.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Jessie Mae Heath Smith.
