Mrs. Jewel Marie (Botts) Lowery, age 85, of Crowe Spring Spur, Adairsville went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2014.

Mrs. Lowery was born in Fannin County, June 30, 1928. Mrs. Lowery attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where she enjoyed helping with the children especially during Bible School. Having been a homemaker and loving mother who raised 7 children, she treasured spending time with her family. She also liked cooking and canning, tending to her garden, and working with her flowers. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louisa Botts; husband, Edward Lee Lowery; grandson, Robert Lowery; 4 brothers, Elmer Botts, John R. Botts, J.D. Botts, and Rupert Botts; 2 sisters, Edith Lowery and Ruby Kent

Survivors include her 7 children, Keith and Linda Lowery of Adairsville, Linda and Johnny Forsyth of Adairsville, Terry and Pamela Lowery of Emerson, Donny and Margaret Lowery of Adairsville, Donnie and Debbie Reece of Adairsville, Janet and Roger Autry of Adairsville, and Janice Langston of Adairsville; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild; sister, Louise Greer of Ringgold and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Kenny Rogers, Rev. Larry Hibberts, Rev. Brent Tatum, and Rev. Greg Free officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Adam Lowery, Ryan Lowery, Wesley Lowery, Randall Forsyth, Taylor Forsyth, Caleb Forsyth, Dalton Holmes and Walker Holmes will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Jewel Marie Lowery.
