Mr. Jian Demetri Shaw, age 39, of Cartersville passed away Saturday morning, April 13, 2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome.

Mr. Shaw was born in Rome, GA, February 11, 1974, son of Lucy Reed Shaw and the late Jimmie D. Shaw. A mechanic and outdoorsman, he loved working on cars, hunting, fishing and hanging out with friends. Mr. Shaw also especially enjoyed attending church and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and 2 brothers, Jimmie D. Shaw, Jr. and Artemis Shaw.

Survivors include a daughter, Jillian Tayla Gunn of Plainville; mother, Lucy Shaw of Adairsville; 5 sisters and brother-in-law, Stephanie Morris of Calhoun,Maryellen Sands Russell of San Antonio, TX, Amber Wilkey of Adairsville, and Dawn Shaw of Calhoun, Aleidra and Tyris Harris of Adairsville; grandmother, Carrie Bowdoin of Adairsville; fiancé, Denise Bowman of Cartersville; 3 aunts, Dorothy Zuber of Adairsville, Mattie Scott of Adairsville and Robin and Eric Williams of Adairsville; nephew and nieces, John L. Wilkey, Jr. of Stone Mountain, Imon Shaw of Calhoun and Sakkara Shaw of Calhoun; a great niece, Jayla Wilkey of Stone Mountain and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 2:00 PM from Gray's Chapel AME Church, Adairsville with Rev. Leonard Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Jermaine Wilson, Reggie Applin, Brian Howard, Darrell Ellis, Dwight Ellis, Antonio Ledbetter, and Kirk Reynolds. Carrika Bowdoin, Tracey Davis, Tonia Morris, Tina Scott, Debbie Pullum, and Gwen Curtis will serve as flower girls.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gray's Chapel AME Church, Adairsville.
