Mr. Jim Junior Ghorley, age 59, of 140 Mullinix Road, Kingston, passed away Thursday morning, January 20, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Floyd County, April 22, 1951, son of the late Abner John and Rosie Mae Heath Ghorley. Mr. Ghorley was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed riding motorcycles, restoring cars, and especially spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Ghorley, a brother, John Ghorley, and a sister, Ilene Ghorley.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Marline Singleton Ghorley, to whom he was married March 8, 1975; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy (Brian) Cowart of Cartersville, Tina (Eddie) Vickers of Dalton, and Natasha (Robert) Nichols of Cartersville; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk (Brandy) Ghorley of Kingston, Steve (Kim) Ghorley of Kingston, and Shawn Ghorley, also of Kingston; 2 brothers, Benny Ghorley, and Charles Ghorley; 2 sisters, Betty Sue Parker and Sara Frances Duval; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from Canaanland Christian Center with Rev. John Huffman and Rev. Charles Ghorley officiating. Interment will follow in Towe Chapel Cemetery. Dewayne Randolph, Harold Depree, Mickey Hardman, Wayne Bridges, Donnie Smith, and Douglas Morris will serve as pallbearers. Ricky Hardman will be an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
