M r. Jimmy " Gilbert" Richard Gilbert, Sr., age 51 , of Carters ville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday , January 19, 2022 .

He was born in Cartersville, Georgia , January 19, 1971, son of Rose Blaylock Crowe and the late Jimmy Richard Gilbert. Jimmy was of the Christian faith and employed at Bartow Paving. He was always happy and wore a smile. Jimmy was a diehard Georgia Bulldogs fan and truly loved his life and all the peopl e in it. He was a wonderful dad, grandpa, son, brother, and friend who will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his f ather, Jimmy Gilbert; grandparents, Andrew and Claudia Blaylock; and an uncle, Wayne Blaylock.

Survivors include his children, Stephanie (C. B. ) Smith of Adairsville , Jimmy (Brittany) Gilbert of Vienna , and Brittany Gilbert of Vienna ; mother, Rose and Calvin Crowe of Summerville ; grandchildren, Gracie Thompson, Brookelynn Thompson , Keel e y Gilbert, Addison Gilbert, Kimberlin Gilbert, Laura Smith, Lijah Smith, Caleb Crisp, Lucas Crisp, Bailey Crisp, and Kyle Crisp; siblings , Sandra (Jaycee) Young, Joann (Victor) Cole, Bobby Chambers, and Rosebud Gilbert; mother of his children, Kathy Akins; girlfriend, Joanie Young and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held January 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Reverends Burnan Hall, Jason Dupree, and Anthony Williams . officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gilbert, C. B. Smith, J ustin Parker, Jaycee Young, Laramie Fox, and Matt Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Victor Cole.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
