Obituary
Mr. Joe N. McFarland, Jr., age 72, of Manning Mill Road, Adairsville, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Cartersville, GA, July 11, 1943, son of the late Joe N. McFarland, Sr. and Lillian "Betty" Brookshire McFarland. Mr. McFarland was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the United States Navy. There was nothing more that he loved than having all his family together. One thing they all loved was getting ready and decorating for the holidays, especially for the Christmas season. He was a self-employed contactor but really enjoyed owning and operating J & A Auctions and in his free time that's where you would usually find him or browsing yard sales and flea markets. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles McFarland.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Audrey Coker McFarland of Adairsville.;; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Darryl Wade of Cartersville, Michelle and Duane Smith of Euharlee and Farrah and Jason Barton of Resaca; sons and daughters-in-law, Travis and Candace Popham of Cartersville and Allen and Lori Popham of Taylorsville; brother, Bobby and Alice McFarland of Cartersville, grandchildren, Brianna Wade, Blake and Jarrad Smith, Bayly Barton, and Brandon, Courtney, and Ashley Popham; great granddaughter, Aylee "Bug"; special nieces, Mackenzie, Heather, and Brandi Passmore; special friend, Steve Morgan and several brother and sister-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with his brothers-in-law, Rev. Tommy Coker and Rev. Lamar Coker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Cartersville. Pallbearers will be Brandon Popham, Blake Smith, Jarrad Smith, Derrick McFarland, Ricky McFarland, and Michael McFarland.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
