Mr. John Henry Ellis, Sr., 62, of North Main Street, Adairsville passed away on Friday, April 4, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Ellis was born in Atlanta, Georgia, September 6, 1952, son of the late Fred and Kathleen Cox. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, loved playing cards, and treasured spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike and Robert Ellis

He is survived by his children, John Ellis, Jr. and Star Weaver of Adairsville, Shawna and Jonah Duvall of Adairsville, and Dustin and Tiffany Ellis of Calhoun; grandchildren, Sierra Rose, Mason Ellis, Madison Ellis, Carson Gable, Cadence Ellis, Brooke Jenkins, Tyler Lumus, Macy Weaver, and Thomas Evans; siblings, Diane King of Cartersville and James Ellis Cartersville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Minister Bill Cline officiating. Interment will follow in the Dewey Baptist Church cemetery. Joe King, Ricky Hyde, Terry Hyde, Brandon Hyde, Tiger O'Shields, Michael Pollard, Don Cline, J.R. Hardin, Freddy Ellis will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
