Obituary
Mr. John Lee Hesdorff, age 81, of Plantation Road, Adairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 17, 1935, son of the late James J. Hesdorff and Nettie Elizabeth Black Hesdorff. Mr. Hesdorff was a veteran having served first in the U.S. Navy, later retiring from the U.S. Air Force at the rank of Staff Sergeant, and finally serving 10 years with the Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, James Edward Hesdorff, Sr., Elizabeth Mary Hesdorff Vetkoetter, Margaret Catherine Hesdorff Novack, Lucille Hesdorff, Jerry William Hesdorff, and Joyce Ann Hesdorff Cumberland.
Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Kitty Hesdorff of Adairsville; children Mary Ann Hesdorff of San Antonio, Texas, Johnny (Julie) Hesdorff of Concord, Massachusetts, Lee (Denise) Castro of Adairsville and LeeAnn Castro of Adairsville. He also had many grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00AM at NorthPointe Church, Adairsville, with the Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, where he will join his fellow Brothers and Sisters in arms with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Jack May, Don Estes, Sam Seaman, Miles Seaman, Lee Charles Castro and Kim Castro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
