Mr. John Stanley Young, 62, of Rydal, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Friday evening, February 18, 2022, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Fairmount, Georgia, April 4, 1959, son of the late John Homer Young and Martha Beatrice Neal Young. John was a member of Olive Vine Baptist Church. He retired from the Bartow County Road Department and previously worked for Glad Manufacturing Company. He was a devoted husband and wonderful father. Anyone who knew John knew he never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest. He was a big NASCAR fan, and loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carolyn Collum and Sara Findley; sister-in-law, Georgia Young; brother-in-law, Alton Temples.

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Tammy Young; sons, Ryan Young (Keni Austin) and Neal Young (Bailey Boswell); brothers, Jimmy Young (Nancy) and Paul Young; sisters, Wilma Findley, Martha Temples, Mary Jane Self ( Ronnie ) , and Mamie P ie rson ( Randy ); brothers-in-law, W. D. Collum and Michael Findley; sister-in-law, Stacey Hale and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Jones, Tyler Duvall, Shawn Sellers, Little Tony Anglin, Matt Childers, and Dakota Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Self and Byron Young.
