Mrs. Johnnie Sue Adcock Boswell, age 85, of Adairsville, passed away peacefully Monday morning, October 27, 2025, at her residence.
Johnnie Sue was born in Folsom, GA, May 26, 1940, to the late Luther Alexander Adcock and Grace Cowart Adcock. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Boswell; and great-granddaughter Alyssa Hall. Johnnie Sue was a member of Glade Baptist Church. She graduated as the valedictorian of Pine Log High School, Class of 1958, an achievement that reflected her dedication and strong work ethic. She retired from Springs Industry.
Throughout her life, she poured her heart into caring for others, spending many years babysitting children in her home—a role she cherished and fulfilled with love and joy. Known by all as one of the sweetest souls to ever be, she had a gentle spirit and a giving heart, always putting others before herself. Her love for family was immeasurable, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, whose companionship brought her great comfort and happiness in her last days. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed listening to old country music. Johnnie Sue leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Johnson (Billy Penn); sons, Robin Boswell (Ted Gordon) and Creg Boswell; grandchildren, Cory Johnson (Jessica Treadway), Kristen Hall (Bryan), and Cameron Boswell (Maddie); great-grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Spencer Hall, and Sarah Hall; great great-grandchildren, Charley Johnson and Cooper Boswell; brothers, Doyle Adcock (Mary), and Dearl Adcock (Lydia) and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Barry Adcock officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery. Pallbearers include Cory Johnson, Cameron Boswell, Nicholas Johnson, Dearl Adcock, Brian Adcock, Jacob Garrett.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Johnnie Sue.
