Joseph Lewis Self, age 63, of Adairsville, passed away Friday morning, November 22, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

Joe was born in Rome, Georgia, September 25, 1961, son of the late Harold Neal Self and Jackie Lou Ivey Self. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Neal Self and David Self.

Joe was known for his heart of gold, giving nature, and kind spirit. He loved people and never met a stranger. Joe was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back and go out of his way to help others. He loved deeply and was loved by many in return. Joe could often be found doing what he loved most, whether it was on the golf course, ball field or in nature hunting or fishing. To know him was to love him. Joe will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his sister, Lynn "Cookie" Craven; nephews, Kevin Self and Kale Self; nieces, Decie Self and Melissa Crockett; several aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held December 5, 2024, at 5:00pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Adairsville with Pastor Daniel Campbell officiating.
