Mr. Joshua Wayne Baxter, age 34, of 4451 Adairsville Road, Adairsville, died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the residence.

Mr. Baxter was born in Rome, GA, January 11, 1977. He was a member of the Shannon Masonic Lodge F & AM #100, the Yaarab Shrine Temple, IBEW Local 84 and had worked as a journeyman mechanic with Georgia Power at Plant Hammond. Mr. Baxter loved the outdoors, was an avid Detroit Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs fan, and especially enjoyed spending time with his children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Willie Charles Baxter and Julia McGhin Baxter, and Charlie Eugene Heath.

Survivors include his wife, Sandie Nicole Evans Baxter of Adairsville; 2 daughters, Bailey and Jodi Baxter; his parents, Charles Wayne and Donna Baxter of Adairsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jay Smith of Cartersville; a niece, Ellie Peyton Smith of Cartersville and a grandmother, Dorothea Granger of Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Carney officiating. Interment will follow with full Masonic grave rites.

Pallbearers include Daniel Cagle, Seth Laney, Joe Rush, Joe Taylor, Josh Holloway, Wayne Gregori, Bill Gregori, and Adam Courson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
