Mr s . Joyce "Wanell" Abernathy Dinning, 7 8 , of Adairsville went to her Heavenly home Thurs day, September 15, 202 2 , surrounded by her loving family .

Sh e was born in Adairsville , Georgia, March 3, 1944 , daughter of the late L awrence August u s Abernathy and Inez King Abernathy . She was a faithful member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, past Sunday school teacher and over the Senior Friends Group s . Wanell was a lover of Elvis, a phenomenal baker, and always happy . She loved her family, especially all her grandchildren. Sh e was preceded in death by h er parents; husband, Jackie Michael Dinning; daughter, Carol Collins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thurman M . Dinning and Myrtle White Dinning; brother, Lawrence Daniel "Danny" Abernathy; nieces, Jill McCrory and Michelle Strickland.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy and Mark Wallace and Karen and Grant Springfield; son, Ken and Glenda Dinning; grandchildren, Logan Tant (Madison) , Dylan Tant (Taylor) , Nathan Tant (Haleigh) , Amber Wallace, Dustin Wallace (Lexi); great-grandchildren Brayden Wallace and Georgia Mae Wallace ; sister s , Patty Babb, Judy Jones (Jerry), Brenda Giordano, Arlice DeFoor, Nancy Budzius (Fred), and Ann McDermott (Sean); and several nieces and nephews.

F uneral services will be held Satur day, September 1 7 , 202 2 , at 3:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Brent Tatum and Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends Satu r day from 12: 3 0 PM until the hour of the funeral at the church. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will include Logan Tant, Dylan Tant, Dustin Wallace, Nathan Tant, Jeremy Jones, Justin Jones, Matthew Giordano, and Don Tidwell. Honorary pallbearers will include Jimmy Wood, Larry Woodring, Jerry Vaughn, Jerry Jones, and Kenneth King.
