Mrs. Juanita Wright Bragg, age 87, of Woody Road, Adairsville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the residence.
She was born in Adairsville, Georgia, November 24, 1928, daughter of the late Arvil James Wright and Mary Ann Jackson Wright. She was a member of the Adairsville Church of Christ, had taught Sunday School, and was a youth leader. Mrs. Bragg was a talented pianist, singer, and song writer. She also enjoyed writing poetry, and was always thoughtful to send sweet cards and letters to the ones she loved. Many people will remember her for her kind words and gestures, yet she will be remembered by her family as "the greatest Momma and Nanny in the whole wide world". She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James M. "Jaker" Bragg; a brother, Harold Wright; and son-in-law, Jerry C. Smith.
Survivors include her beloved children, Kay A. Smith, Lynn and Sonny Parker, Joan and Mike Smith, Dawn Selden, and Terri and Cortez Suttles all of Adairsville; sister, Shirley Murphy of Adairsville; aunts, Irene West of Adairsville and Lois Jarrett of Acworth; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Adairsville Church of Christ with Ministers Steve McCaslin, Calvin Reneau, and Rick Lawson officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include her grandsons, Stacy Parker, Kerry Smith, Grant Smith, Dustin Smith, Chad Parker, Daniel Suttles, Drew Suttles, and Tristin Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons-in-law, Chad Isaac and Russell Gray; great- grandsons, Devon Isaac, Dylan Smith, Britt Smith, Jake Parker, Luke Parker, Zack Parker, and Carson Gray; and special friend; Charles Freeman.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Juanita Wright Bragg.
