M rs. Judy V. Herod , age 70 , of Rome , passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Redmond Regional Medical Center .

She was born in Cartersville , Georgia , March 29, 1951, daughter of the late Sally Hill Byars. Judy was a christian and spent her life loving and taking care of her family. She was an avid reader, loved flower gardening, crafting, and a phenomenal cook. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Byars; sons, Steve Taylor and Jody Taylor; and sisters, Darlene White, Vicki Byars – Hulsey, Wanda Dover, and Hope Byars.

Survivors include her loving husband, Tilmon Herod; children, Connie Taylor, Cristi Maples, and Brian Taylor; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford Byars, Timothy Byars, and Brian Byars; sisters, Linda Hightowe r , Sherry Collins, and Molly Smith; sister-in-law , Anna Taylor and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednes day, July 14, 2021 , at 1 2 :00 Noon from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating . The family will receive friends Wednes day from 11 :00 A M until the hour of the service. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
