Mrs. June Hyde Hight, age 84, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bartow County, Georgia, December 24, 1940, daughter of the late Jack Carthan Hyde, Jr. and Esther Mae Payne Hyde. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles Lee Hight; son-in-law, Scott Duvall; sister, Jackie Hyde Strickland and brother, Joel Hyde. She was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church.

June Hight was known by many names; June, Mama, Mama June, Mawmaw, Mawmaw June and finally June The Great! Her home was always open for anyone in need of refuge and her kitchen was always open no matter the time of day. She would always ask if you were hungry and offer to cook whatever she had or whatever you wanted; It was one of the many ways she showed her love.  She would sit and talk for hours with visitors and loved people no matter their background, race or gender, religion or their personal beliefs. After retiring from AT&T she ran a daycare for her home and kept countless children over the years, grandchildren, great nieces and nephews friends children and complete strangers who were treated like family and remain close friends years later.

Survivors include her daughter, Junia Duvall; son, Chuck and Joy Hight; grandchildren, Tiffanie Duvall (Christi), Luke Holcomb (Ali), Chaz Hight (Mary), Britt Hight, Riley Wheeler, and Samuel Wheeler; great granddaughter, Oaklynn Hight and 2 on the way, Aspen Hight in November and Baby Holcomb in January; sister, Judy Otting (Michael);brother, Jimmy Hyde (Pam); sisters-in-law, Linda Parker Hyde, Elaine Hight, and Mattie Langley; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Reverends David Summey and Joseph Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Luke Holcomb, Chaz Hight, Britt Hight, Greg Hight, Rocky Dutton, Carl Strickland, and Alex Hyde. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Howard, Judd Hyde, Jack Hyde, Noah Dutton and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
