Mr s . June Wood , age 88 , of Adairsville , went to be with h er Lord and Savior on Sun day evening , September 1 8 , 2022 .

Sh e was born in Rome , Georgia , August 5, 1934 , to the late Wayne Knowles and Lucille Carpenter Knowles . She was also preceded in death by h er husband, James Wood; sons, Larry Neil Griffin, Jr., James Harlan Griffin, Buster Freeman, and Van Freeman; daughter, Joy Bryant ; brothers, Eddie Knowles and Dale Knowles; and granddaughter, Kristi Michelle Cosper. Mr s. Wood was a member of Adairsville Baptist Church and retired from Shaw Industries.

Survivors include h er son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Jeri Griffin; brother, Clyde Knowles; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and a host of great great-grandchildren.

A celebration of June's life will be held Fri day , September 2 3 , 202 2 , at 6 : 0 0 PM from Adairsville Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Sorrell officiating . The family will receive friends at the church from 5 :00 PM until 6 : 0 0 PM.
