Ms. Kathryn Harriet Casey age 57, of Rome, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, March 20, 2015.
She was born and raised in Decatur, GA, April 9, 1957, daughter of the late Anna Darling and Fite H. Casey, Jr. Harriet was a 1975 graduate of Towers High School, had earned her Associates Degree from Georgia Northwestern and was employed as a certified respiratory therapist with Apria Healthcare of Rome. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Rome and a devout Christian, serving as an inspiration to others and a shining example of faith and humility, especially during her short battle with cancer. A truly one-of-a-kind individual her interests included taking in and caring for her many pets, amassing multiple unique sets of collectibles from Coke memorabilia to T-shirts and vintage fast food figurines, music from classic rock to contemporary Christian, and spending time with family.
Ms. Casey was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Robin Lynn Casey, and her beloved dog "Pluto".
Survivors include two sisters, Rebecca Taylor of Rome, and Jean Casey of Brooksville, FL; a brother and a sister-in-law, Fite H. Casey, III and Leslie Williams Casey of Rome, aunt, Jean Rice of Cumming; uncle, Douglas Evans of Adairsville; nieces and nephews, Burnie Taylor of Richland, WA, Joshua Casey of Rome, Fite H. Casey, IV, of Cartersville, Phillips Casey of New Braunfels, TX, Mary Casey of Adairsville, and Grace Casey of Rome; Great Nieces and Nephews; Kadin and Braylen Scoggins of Rome, Cullen Schmidt of Adairsville, Drake and Tessa Casey of Rome, Raegan and Audrey Casey of New Braunfels, TX, and Sydnhi and Fite H. Casey, V of Cartersville.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Oothcalooga Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, from 12:00 PM until the service begins.
