Obituary

Mr. L. C. Nation, Jr., age 65 of Franklin Street, Adairsville passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Polk County Medical Center, Cedartown.

Mr. Nation was born in Cartersville, Georgia, September 13, 1947, son of the late L.C. Nation, Sr. and Reba Geneva Gore Nation. He was a member of Stoner Baptist Church and retired from Union Carbide. Mr. Nation enjoyed being out in the country and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy Nation.

Survivors include 3 children, Barry and Marcia Nation of Atlanta, Rhonda Nation Filetti of Rome, and Reggie and Brandy Nation of Kingston; 7 grandchildren, Allison Filetti Williams, Brittany Filetti Williams, Tyler Filetti, Lacy Kerns, Courtney Nation, Hanna Nation, and Hunter Nation; a great-grandson, Copelan Williams; a brother, Danny Nation of Adairsville and a sister, Kathy Nation Harris of Adairsville; a nephew and niece, Chris Nation and Lindsey Harris.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Stoner Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. C. E. Wilkey and Rev. Earl Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow in Stoner Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. The body will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Haley Stevens, Monty Davis, Howard Cochran, Jr., Tyler Filetti, Jeff Nation, Jerry Boston and Scottie Nation. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Marshall, Chris Nation, Autry Ward, Ronald Gore, Earl Wilkey, Don Thurman, and Bill Hamilton.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Barton Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
