Mr. Lanier Wayne Ledford, age 72, of Spring Creek Circle, Adairsville, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Gainesville, Georgia, October 7, 1942, son of the late Dan Ellis Ledford and Aimee Hunt Ledford. Mr. Ledford was a member and deacon of Adairsville Baptist Church. Mr. Ledford was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Ledford was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clifford Ledford and Nelson Ledford; uncle, Dick Ledford.

Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Shirley Godwin Ledford; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda and Rodney Brown of Dallas and Kimberly and Jeff Arthur of Rydal; step-sons, Douglas Scott of Cartersville and James and Ginger Scott of Cartersville; special granddaughter, Tiffany Morgan and husband Kevin Morgan; 7 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy C. Ledford of Sugar Hill; sister, Reba Ledford of Sugar Hill; several nieces and nephews and good friend, James Carr.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Adairsville Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Eric Sorrell officiating.
