Obituary

Mrs. Larnita P. Glass, age 81, of 634 Woody Road, Adairsville, passed away Saturday evening, December 31, 2011 at Gordon Hospital, Calhoun.

She was born in Guntersville, AL, July 3, 1930, daughter of the late James and Mary Jackson Pendergrass. Mrs. Glass was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Glass and her husband had owned and operated several businesses, including a gas station, restaurant, beauty salon, and flower shop, in addition to raising her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marlen Wade Glass; 5 sisters and 4 brothers.

Survivors include her 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karen Glass of Adairsville and Jimmy Glass of Adairsville; a daughter, Deborah Glass of Adairsville; 9 grandchildren, David Hall, Jason Hall, Stacey Caldwell, Mandy Fite, Michelle Meadows, Mary Long, Shawn Cronnon, Cristina Higgins, and Ashlei Glass; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM from Oak Grove Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Gary Garland, Rev. Jacky Clayton, and Rev. Roy Frix officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. The body will lie in state at the church from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour. Michael Higgins, Jonathan Hunter, David Hall, Jason Hall, John Wilson, and Ronnie Williams will serve as pallbearers. Dimitri Miller and Shawn Cronnon will be honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Larnita P. Glass.
