In Loving Memory of Our Very Own Dr. Doolittle….

We never knew what he would bring home next—be it a stray animal, a wounded bird, or simply another story of wonder from the natural world. A true lover of all things wild and free, he had a special way with animals and an even deeper connection to the land.

A lifelong farmer, he found purpose in the rhythm of the seasons and the steady hum of a tractor engine. He was a proud tractor enthusiast—you never knew what piece of one he'd drag home, but you could be sure it was needed, and he had a plan for it. Known throughout Rydal as "The Hay Man," he could always be found in the hayfield on a sunny summer day.

His love of community ran just as deep. He had a passion for civic duty—placing flags on veterans' graves with reverence and never passing up a chance to thank a veteran for their service. Come December, you'd find him in the local Christmas parade, his spirit as bright as the lights.

He was the founding member of the Sweet, Kind, and Loveable club. Among those carrying forward his legacy are his loving granddaughters, India and Paisley, and rising member Eveylynn —each a living reminder of the joy, strength, and heart he gave so freely.

He lived a life rooted in place and purpose, never straying far—living and dying within a mile of where it all began. In that quiet stretch of land he called home, he sowed kindness, hard work, and a legacy that will long be remembered.

We will forever love our Pops!
