Obituary
Mr. Larry Gene Colston, age 68, of Calhoun, GA, passed away, June 27, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Colston was born in Calhoun, GA, February 14, 1945, son of the late James R. "Doc" Colston and Thelma Bailey Colston. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy and the U. S. Air Force Reserves, having served during the Vietnam Era. Larry loved God, family, veterans, and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Glenda Bryant and a brother, Ronald Colston.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Susong Colston of Calhoun; a son, Todd Adcock of Rome; a daughter, Lindsey Colston of Calhoun; 2 step-daughters, Lara (Mike) Holmes of Calhoun and Gwen Hollingsworth of Calhoun; 2 grandchildren, Chandler Bowen and Chianne Holmes; 7 siblings, Jimmy (Katherina) Colston, Faye (Allen) Casey, Sheila (Danny) Self, King Colston, Rodney (Betty) Colston, Ricky (Sheila) Colston, Jeanette (Lewis) Waters; several aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Calhoun Depot, Calhoun. The family requests in lieu of flowers please make any contributions to the Larry Todd Adcock Fund at any of the Wells-Fargo Banks. This will contribute to a handicap equipped van for Larry's son.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Larry Gene Colston.
