Mr. Lawrence Thurston Bearden, Jr., age 64, of 833 Johnson Lake Road, Adairsville, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the residence.

He was born in Fulton County, GA, January 1, 1949, son of Lawrence Thurston Bearden, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Mullins. Mr. Bearden had owned and operated a paint contract business and also attended NorthPointe Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards, and fishing. He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Mike Bearden.

Survivors include his wife Valerie Bearden of Adairsville; father and stepmother, Lawrence (Sun) Bearden, Sr. of Rome; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Scott (Tabatha) Bearden of Adairsville, Lawrence (Stacy) Bearden, of Cartersville, and Jeff (Kisha) Bearden of MS; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Chanda (Richard) Brookshire of Calhoun and Angie Bearden of Rome; a stepson, Curtis Smith of Acworth; a stepdaughter, Nikki Smith of Canton; a brother, Kenny Bearden of Rome and sister, Carol Bowen of Rome; 14 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013, at 2:00 PM at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Ronnie Kelley, Richard Brookshire, Chuck Jones, Colin Bearden, Woody McClure, and Lawrence Bearden, IV will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
