Obituary
Mrs. Lila Arlene Pittman Hazelwood, age 78, of 87 Gaines Road, Cartersville, passed away Friday evening, October 12, 2012, at the residence.
Mrs. Hazelwood was born in Bartow County, Georgia, December 28, 1933, daughter of the late Tom and Julie Evans Pittman. She was of the Methodist faith and attended Peeples Valley Community Church. Mrs. Hazelwood was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and sister, whose favorite pastime was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny Hazelwood; brother, Harold Pittman and sister, Dorothy "Dot" Pittman Plott.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Ann and Stanley Manous of Cartersville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Lisa Hazelwood of LaFayette and Rick and Donna Hazelwood of LaFayette; 10 grandchildren, Jenny (Richard) Humphries, Scooter (Megan) Hazelwood, Lucy (Jason) Hall, Jessica Hazelwood, Travis (Amy) Manous, Zachary Llewellyn, Chelsa Anderson, Kila Boggs, Caleb Reyes, and Adam Boggs; 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rachel Hazelwood and Faye Stephens both of Cartersville; brother, Junior Pittman of Cartersville; sister-in-law Almer Hazelwood of Cartersville and several nieces and nephews; special friends, Jack and Shelby Edwards and Betty Hazelwood
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 15, 2012, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Hufstetler and Rev. Roland Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville.
Scooter Hazelwood, Dell Hazelwood, Richard Humphries, Jason Hall, Bill Huskins, and Jackie Pittman will serve as pallbearers. Junior King, Jack Edwards, Johnny Pittman, and Ricky Stephens will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
