Mrs. Lillie A. Cowart Pratt, age 89, of 52 Pratt Road, NW, Adairsville, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 04, 2011.

She was born in Cartersville, GA, September 24, 1921, daughter of the late John B. "Jack" and Mary Stephens Cowart. Mrs. Pratt was a devout Christian woman of the Pentecostal faith having attended Canaanland Christian Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry F. Pratt in 1996; a son Franklin Dean Pratt in 1941; a sister, Alma Richardson; 2 brothers, A.B. Cowart and Douglas Cowart and a grandson, Cyrus Lemuel Pratt.

Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Lemuel and Mildred Pratt of Adairsville, Edward and Glenda Pratt of Adairsville, and Kenneth and Laura Pratt of Adairsville; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Marvin Shepard of Cartersville and Lisa and Charles Fletcher of Adairsville; a brother, Hughlon Cowart; 8 sisters, Grace Adcock, Jackie Cowart, Martha Ann Sewell, Marian Shook, Bobbie Wyatt, Patsy Vines, Sarah Shuler, and Carolyn Cowart; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Towe Chapel Cemetery in Adairsville with Rev. Mike Abernathy officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

Marvin Shepard, Charles Fletcher, Reggie Fletcher, Randall Pratt, Clifford Pratt, Larry Pratt, and Jordan Manley will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Lilly Cowart Pratt.
