Mrs. Linda McElrath Vaughan, age 69, of Dogwood Drive, Cartersville, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center.
She was born in Cartersville, GA, September 20, 1946, daughter of late Clyde Louis McElrath and Bonnie Baker McElrath. Mrs. Vaughan was a member of Lighted Pathway Church of God. She loved her family and cherished having them around, especially her grandbabies. Mrs. Vaughan was an avid reader, enjoyed working crosswords, and watching the hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her parents and sons, Donald Eugene Vaughan and Alton Lamar Vaughan.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Vaughan; sons and daughter-in-law, Kenny Lee Vaughan of Cartersville, Terry Lynn and Brenda Vaughan of Cartersville; grandchildren, David Vaughan, Cassie Davis, Whitney Flores, Paden Vaughan, Gavin Vaughan, Kelly Young, and Joseph Young; 9 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; brother, Danny and Phyllis McElrath of Cartersville and her sweet puppy, Lucy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10, at 2:00 PM from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Kingston, with Ministers Jack Kitchens, David Baker, Ronnie Richardson, and James Kiser officiating. The body will lie in state at the Church on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Cartersville. Pallbearers include Derek Davis, Jovanni Flores, Paden Vaughan, Gavin Vaughan, Brandon McElrath, and Shane Dover. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaleb Waters and Israel Dover.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
