Miss Lisa Newton Ellis, age 62, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016. She was born December 8, 1953 to the late Charles L. and Bernice Newton Ellis. She was the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. C.L. Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. William Newton. She was a proud graduate of Cartersville High School and was employed by Floyd Medical Center for 27 years. She was a civil war historian, loved genealogy and cemetery history and co-authored a published book, Bartow County Cemeteries. She was involved in many clubs and organizations. Lisa collected tea pots and loved a good cup of coffee or hot tea. She was a devote Christian, a member of Kingston Baptist Church and also attend Kingston United Methodist Church. She was an angel here on earth and will be deeply missed by those who survive, her sister, Carol Lynn Ellis of Kingston; niece and family, Alan, Nikki, and Elijah Zurek of Florida; special caregivers, Patricia Cochran and Maggie Hawkins of Kingston; primary caretaker, Dawn Silvers and family, Payton, Ryan and Matthew Silvers. The family wishes to especially thank the staff at Waldrop Personal Care who went above and beyond to help care for Lisa the past ten months as she battled end stage of early onset Alzheimer's disease. The family also thanks the staff and volunteers at Amedysis Hospice for care and encouragement, especially her nurse, Heather. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
