Lois A. Fletcher, 63 of Kingston, GA passed away on January 20, 2024, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was a long-time citizen of Gilchrist County, Florida serving both on the school board and for the Chamber of Commerce.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, John William Clary of Paris, Tennessee as well as her father-in-law, Cedell Fletcher of Gainesville, FL.
Lois loved nature-based macro photography. She would tell everyone that God gave her the eye to "see" His creation.
Lois Fletcher served eight years on the Gilchrist County School Board, in the early 2000's, where she was a big advocate for the students and teachers. Lois never considered herself a politician but as a public servant where she put all of her energy, ensuring GCSD was top notch. Lois was a very passionate person and put her heart into everything that she did. She enjoyed going to State School Board meetings and taking part in committee policy meetings. She was not shy about speaking up and fighting for Gilchrist Schools and other small districts. Lois also served as the executive director for the Gilchrist County Chamber of Commerce for six years. She was given a task and made it bigger than anyone ever thought possible. For years she would oversee the town festival, Down Home Days. She would use all her resources in growing this event into a very large happening with hundreds of people attending. Lois Fletcher was a very special person. She was secure in her God and had a strong set of personal values. She loved her husband and her family but above all, she loved God and being a Christian. She will be missed by many. Lois has left such an impact on so many people, whether big or small and as Lois said before she passed, "When all is said and done, be a good memory".
A Celebration of Lois's Life will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Laurel Hall, Pine Acres Resort, 3963 Bartow Carver Rd SE, Acworth,Georgia 30102.
