Mr. Loye Lay Wilson, age 75, of 230 Mostellers Mill Road, Adairsville, passed away Thursday morning, April 28, 2011, at the residence.
He was born in Jasper, GA, February 17, 1936, son of the late Earnest and Ada Wilson. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church, Jasper and had been a truck driver for Cagle, Inc. Mr. Wilson enjoyed providing and spending time with his family and being a wonderful husband. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herbert Wilson and a sister, Bertie Cantrell.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Edna Redd Wilson of Adairsville; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Greg Davis of Ellijay, Connie Wilson of Jasper and Marlena and Joseph Grant of Adairsville; a son, Tony Wilson of Jasper; 4 grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Davis, Jonathan Grant, and a special grandson Matthew Grant; several great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Margie Wilson of Collinsville, Alabama and W.L. and Charlotte Wilson of Jasper; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Cleo Garrison of Jasper, Pauline and J.C. Hightower of Jasper, Betty and David Parton of Ballground, and Lois and Wade Cantrell of Jasper and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at 2:30 PM at Canaanland Christian Center with Rev. Cary Hall, Rev. Chris Childers, and Rev. Tim Redd officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Adairsville. Steven Young, Russell Redd, Burnan Hall, Jr. Michael Childers, Shane Childers, Shane Davis, and Stacey Parton will serve as pallbearers while Jackie Grant, Tim King, Benny King, Vernon Hardin, Jackie and Jerry Bagley will be honorary pallbearers
The family will receive friends at Pleasant Valley Full Bible Church, Friday after 6:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Loye Wilson.
