Evelyn "Lynn" Holmes Chassaniol, age 84, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023, with her loved ones at her side.

Lynn was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, on November 19, 1938, to the late Herbert Joseph Chassaniol and Frances Holmes Chassaniol. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Carollo. She graduated with honors from Delta State College with a master's degree in education. After graduating she moved to Georgia in 1963, to teach history at Osborne Middle School in Marietta. Lynn retired after 31 years of educating the young minds of Cobb County.  She enjoyed planting a garden and had a keen sense of humor. She was a huge animal lover, played the ukulele, sports enthusiast, big fan of the Atlanta Falcons and the Braves, and competitive bridge player. She was loved for her kindness, generosity, and goodness. Lynn touched the lives of many people, and her memory will live in their hearts forever.

Survivors include her lifelong friend, Janice Sharp; nieces, Julie Sasser (Brian) and Lisa Davison (Greg); great-nephews, Alex Sasser, Kyle Sasser (Delaney), and Griffin Davison, and her beloved poodle, Suzette.

A Celebration of Lynn's life will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 1:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 1:00PM on Thursday.  She will be buried in Greenwood Mississippi next to her parents and sister at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family ask donations to be made to your local Humane Society in Lynn's memory.
