Mrs. Mabel Ellen Pratt Tate, 94, of Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020.

She was born in Pinehurst, GA, February 3, 1926, daughter of the late Cyrus Logan Pratt and Carrie Lou Carr Pratt. She was a member of Mt. Paran Church of God, Smyrna and attended NorthPointe Church, Adairsville. She worked as a cosmetologist for many years and owned and operated Tate's Dress Boutique. Mrs. Tate was a kind gentle soul, a true classy lady. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Daniel "Zip" Jay Tate on July 8, 2009; sisters, Iris Lee Akins, Bonnie Young, Harriett McAfee, Joann Johnson, and Jesse Sharpe; and brothers, Mike Pratt, Cecil Pratt, Clemon Pratt, and Perry Pratt.

She is survived by her nephew, Larry Pratt and several other nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Annette Gay, Esdell Watkins, and Kim Moore for all their care and love they showed Mrs. Tate.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM on Friday.
