Mrs. Madge Terrill Tate, age 89, of Rome, GA passed away Thursday evening, September 9, 2021, at her residence.

She was born in C artersville , Georgia , September 11, 1931 , daughter of the late John Richmond Terrill and Alta Mae Cope Terrill . She was a member of Adairsville Baptist Church and attended St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Rome. She was also a member of The Daughter of American Revolution , United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughter of the War of 1812, Orphan Brigade Association, Huguenot Society, and Huguenot Society of Manakin. She loved family history and had a passion for discovering all she could about her ancestors. Genealogy was something she and her son Michael enjoyed doing together. She was preceded in death by h er parents; husband, Mr. Richard Vinson Tate; brothers, Herman, Richmond, Ray and Allen Terrill; sister, Clara Mae Terrill.

Survivors include her son, Michael Richmond Tate; sister, Marjorie Venable; sister-in-law, Helen Ann (Bob) Davenport and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial service will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Mr. Austin Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
