Obituary
Ms. Mady Elizabeth Bostain passed away at the age of 99 on August 4th in her residence. She was the daughter of James Forrest Holcomb and Mamie Elizabeth (Stephens) Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles Holcomb, James Holcomb, Ben Wingate, sister Lucy Brockway and husband Robert Bostain. Ms. Bostain is survived by sister Rubie Robbins of Winter Park, Florida, brother Dan Wingate of Calhoun, Georgia, nephews and nieces.
She was a long time resident of Sandy Springs, Georgia who enjoyed traveling both domestically and aboard. She was an avid walker having logged over 40,000 miles with a walking club in Sandy Springs. She credits walking 10-12 miles a day for her long life and was featured in a CNN segment and Readers Digest article on the benefits of exercise. Mady made it a point to walk up Stone Mountain annually and last did so at the age of 86. She volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital until her mid- 80's and was a member of the North Atlanta Church of Christ. Her wit, endless energy and enthusiasm for life will be missed. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2016, at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
