Mrs. Marcella Bertha Frenzel Froehling died January 5, 2016 in Redmond Regional Hospital after a brief illness at age 97. Mrs. Froehling was born in Bracken, Texas on August 26, 1918, daughter of the late Walter Frenzel and Hilda Hierholzer Frenzel. Mr. and Mrs. Froehling maintained a dairy farm and later a cattle farm in Tabor, Texas from 1959 to the current time. She attended College Heights Assembly of God Church in Bryan, Texas and later Mt. Paran Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. Froehling was a talented quilter, enjoyed going to local gospel singings, and loved all animals. She had lived in Adairsville, Georgia with her daughter since 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hilda Frenzel, her husband, Paul Froehling, and sister, Alice Sanders.
She is survived by daughters, Karen (Anthony) DiGiovanni of The Woodlands and Doris (Larry) Greenhaw of Adairsville, GA; sons, Edward (Nancy) Froehling of College Station, TX and Norvin (Sally) Froehling of Houston, TX; her brother, Roy Frenzel of Bryan, TX; grandchildren, Dori Ann (Jonathon) Brumbelow, Lance (Allison) Greenhaw, John (Julie) Froehling, Mark (Jessica) Froehling, Anthony (Pamela Jo) DiGiovanni, and Stephanie (Harrison) DiGiovanni-Kinsley; great-grandchildren, Parks Greenhaw, MaryEllen Greenhaw, Freya Froehling, Megan Brumbelow, Zebulon Brumbelow, and Luke Froehling, nieces and nephews, Janet and Rostell Chapman, Jennifer Lunsford, and Kevin Frenzel.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2015, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Mrs. Barbara Bounds Selby officiating. The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. The family will also have services at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas. The interment will follow in Kurten Cemetery, Kurten, Texas.
