Obituary

Mrs. Margie Mae Smith Fletcher, age 85, of Hall Station Road, Adairsville, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome.

Mrs. Fletcher was born in Adairsville, Georgia, January 8, 1928, daughter of the late Guy Oliver Smith and Ella Maude Young Smith. Mrs. Fletcher was a lifelong member of Snow Springs Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and part of the Ladies Circle. She loved cooking, enjoyed being outside in her garden and flowerbeds, and loved being with her family. Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leonard "C.L." Fletcher; son, Randy Fletcher; 3 brothers, Edwin, Arnold and Marvin Smith.

She is survived by her 2 sons and daughters-in-laws, Leonard and Patsy Fletcher of Adairsville, Charles and Lisa Fletcher of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Johnny Grisham of Adairsville; a daughter-in-law, Linda Fletcher of Calhoun; 12 grandchildren, Jeff (Susie) Fletcher, Misty (Ryan) Coker, Celina (David) Locke, Monty (Tracy) Bennett, Becky (Chad) Bean, Jeremy Grisham, Hanna (Alex) Wright, Miranda (Brandon) Jones, Reggie (Carlie) Fletcher, Wendy Fletcher, Holly (Brian) Vandagriff, and Amanda (Neal) Davis; 20 great- grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Oliver (Lelar) Smith, Frank (Virginia) Smith, Lawrence (Nancy) Smith, and Jimmy (Vera Mae) Smith; a sister in-law, Charlene Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 12:00 PM at Snow Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Martin and Rev. Stephen Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Sunday at Barton Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
