Mrs. Marie McStotts, born July 26, 1943, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, January 12, 2026.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by love, kindness, and deep appreciation for the simple joys of living.
Marie loved her family above all else. She found great happiness in cooking for those she loved, tending to flowers, and spending time in nature. She worked for many years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Cartersville, where she formed lifelong friendships and met the love of her life, Van McStotts. The two later married and were inseparable throughout their 30 years together. Marie and Van spent much of their married life enjoying the North Georgia countryside: gardening, soaking in nature, and cherishing time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her gentle spirit, nurturing heart, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Frances Hendrix; her sister, Melba Brooks; and her brothers, Gary Hendrix, Hoyle Hendrix, and Doyle Hendrix.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Van McStotts; her children, Rhonda McStotts Martin (Chad), Christy McStotts (Jason Foster), and Caney McStotts (Arlette); her grandchildren, Whitley Norton (Jeremy), Ta-Li Martin (Tiffaney), Kaitlin Gulledge (Brody), Taylor Sutton (Zach), and Oliver McStotts; eight cherished great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Opal Hillhouse (Ernest), Audeen Lott (David), Joyce Hill (James), Carol Arnold, Doris Henson (Mickey), Judy Cole (Joe), and Tommy Hendrix (Peggy).
Marie’s legacy of love, devotion, and grace will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Green officiating. In accordance with Marie’s wishes, no graveside services will be held. She will be interred in the McStotts’ Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday morning from 11:00AM until 12:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Marie McStotts.
