Mrs. Marie Wright Mealer, age 77, of Green Loop, Adairsville, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Mealer was born in Adairsville, Georgia December 10, 1938, daughter of the late Grady and Mattie Lou Wright. Mrs. Mealer was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and was retired from Brumlow Mills. Her biggest joy in life was her family and she enjoyed working in the garden, canning, quilting, and doing crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Mealer; sisters, Glenise Mealer and Nettie Ruth Sutton; a brother, Alton Grady Wright.

Survivors include her son, Mike Mealer of Adairsville; daughters and son-in-law, Frankie Mealer of Adairsville and Jill and Richard Hollaran of Adairsville; sister, Violene Ezell of Fairmount; grandchildren, Kelley, Mackenzie, and Kendra Mealer, Caylen and Logan Hollaran; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Jim Pinkard and Rev. Mark Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Plainview Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Logan Hollaran, Robert Mealer, Tim Mealer, Jerry Wright, Edward Wilson, Freddy Childers, Johnny Owens, and Donald McReynolds.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
