Obituary
Mr. Marlin "Budge" Pelfrey, age 79, of Old Calhoun Road, Plainville, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Gordon Health Care Center.
He was born in Adairsville, March 2, 1937, son of the late Carl Darnell Pelfrey and Katie Lou Sanders Pelfrey. He was a member of Adairsville Church of Christ. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Mr. Pelfrey was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Pelfrey and Maurice Pelfrey; sisters, Barbara Finch, Melba Wilson, and Myrtle Sutton.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Ellen Pelfrey of Plainville; children, Lawayne and Betsy Pelfrey of Silver Creek, Tracey Pelfrey of Plainville, Monique and Mike Young of Fairmount, and Eric Pelfrey of Plainville; grandchildren, Hannah Ross, Erica Pelfrey, Austin Pelfrey, Aaron Pelfrey, Sarah-Kate Pelfrey, Marlee Pelfrey, and Taylor Young; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Virgil Story, Charlotte and Jackie Bowman Martha and Johnny Holbert, and Sandra and Larry Garland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Adairsville Church of Christ with Ministers Steve McCaslin and Rick Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery, Plainville. Pallbearers include Robert Pelfrey, Tim Story, Kevin Sutton, Colby Adams, Brian Holbert, Stanley Pelfrey, Greg Bowman, and Mark Garland
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
