Mrs. Martha Jeanette Henson, 79, of Adairsville, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Hospice Unit.
She was born in Cartersville, GA August 4, 1937, daughter of the late Albert Gravely and Bessie Patterson Gravely. Mrs. Henson was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and the Joe P. Bowdoin Order of the Eastern Star. A wonderful cook and collector of cookbooks, she enjoyed to be in the kitchen. She treasured time with her children and grandchildren, traveling stateside and abroad, and going to country music concerts. She much-loved living her life to the fullest. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Colonel Henson; son, Steve Henson; and 11 siblings.
Survivors include her children, Connie and Harvey Petty of Calhoun, Donna and Steve Bradshaw of Adairsville, Sherrie and Archie Nalbandian of Woodstock, and Stanley and Tammy Henson of Rome; daughter-in-law, Helen Henson of Plainville; grandchildren, Christy, Jessica, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Chad, Derek, Fantazia, Kimberly, Aaron, and Coty; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Junior and Debbie Gravely of Cartersville; sister-in-law, Elise Reece; brother-in-law, Jack and Peggy Henson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. David Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
