Mrs. Martha Mae Smith, of Summit Drive, Adairsville passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at Kindred Hospital, Rome. Mrs. Smith was born in Rome, Georgia, April 12, 1937, daughter of the late George and Gladys Johnson Warren. Mrs. Smith was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church in Shannon and had worked at Galey and Lord. She loved cooking and spending her time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Eugene Smith; son, Matthew Glenn Smith; sister, Sue Comer and 4 brothers, Gene Warren, George Warren, Roland Warren, and Tommy Warren Survivors include her 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey Smith of Calhoun, Mike (Teresa) Smith of Adairsville, Donnie (Clorice) Smith of Plainville, and Kevin (Jeanie) Smith of Adairsville; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Deborah (Neal) Lemons of Adairsville and Candace Shirley of Adairsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, John Warren and Julius Warren; 2 sisters, Sandra Cook and Elsie Welchel; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. John Warren officiating.
