Obituary
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Turner, age 77, of Fieldwood Drive, Adairsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 after years of declining health.
Mrs. Turner was born in Adairsville, Georgia, February 22, 1939, daughter of the late Harlan Thomas and Mattie Parker Thomas. She was a member of Stoner Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-nine years, Charles Turner; son, Chuck Turner; sisters, Louise Abernathy, Ann Hallman, and Doris Montgomery; brother, David Thomas.
Survivors include her 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa Turner of Adairsville and Tracy and Scott Whitlock of Adairsville; grandchildren, Kirsten Turner and Quinn Whitlock; great-grandchildren, Kilian and Myles; sister, Betty Dobson of Stockbridge brother, Ed Thomas of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 15, at 12:00 PM from Stoner Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Abernathy and Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral. Pallbearers include Jimmy Watkins, Jerry Jones, Dillard Abernathy, Steve Abernathy, Terry Defoor, and Donald Collum. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dewitt Everett.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
