Mrs. Mary Thelma Cornwell, age 88, of Adairsville went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 26, 2023, with her loving husband by her side.

She was born on July 26, 1935, to the late Edd Smith and Carrie Mae Lanham Smith. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Smith, Glenn Smith and Bradley Smith, and sisters, Jeanette Center Parker and Betty Louise Smith. Thelma was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and a faithful Christian.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Crystal Eugene Cornwell "K. O."; special friends, Harold and Debbie Tidwell and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 3:00 PM from Plainview Baptist Church with Reverends David Baker and Greg Rowlins officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00PM until 3:00PM on Saturday. Pallbearers include Greg Bowen, Larry Turner, Wayne Cole, Jeff Cornwell, Harold Tidwell, and Eddie Blackman.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Mary Thelma Cornwell.
