Mrs. Mary Jean Pelfrey Hice, age 73, of Adairsville passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

She was born in Calhoun, GA, December 6, 1945, daughter of Ruth Kinsey Pelfrey and the late Maurice Alexander Pelfrey. Mrs. Hice was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest accomplishments was her family. Mrs. Hice was preceded in death by father, Maurice Pelfrey and brother, Steve Pelfrey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Bobby Hice; children, Val Hice, Shae and Keith Adams, and Courtney and Angie Hice; mother, Ruth Pelfrey; grandchildren, Tyler Adams, Tanner and Emily Adams, Thatcher Adams, Kelsy Hice, Hunter Hice, Abby and Ryan Crowe, and Colby Hice; great-grandson, Theodore Adams; brother, Stanley and Sherry Pelfrey; sister, Pam and Mitchell Wright and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.

The family will except flowers or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Hice's honor to the American Cancer Society.
