Maxie Dewayne Melton , age 4 2 , of Rydal , passed away unexpectedly Satur day, February 11 , 2023.
He was born in Galveston, Texas , June 7, 1980 , son of the late Jim Melton and Mary Hall Lo er ker-Worley. Maxie is also preceded in death by the one he called dad, Paul Lo er ker; brother, Andrew Melton; sister, Elsie Melton Silvers; and nephews, Joseph Heisler. Maxie loved his children more than anything and was always proud of them. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling and swimming, just being outdoors. He had worked as a tree surgeon for majority of his life but never thought of it as work because he liked it so much. Maxie will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Jetta Bearden Melton; children, James Michael Melton, Matthew Wallace Melton, and Rachael Marie Melton; sister, Ruth Melton Byars and husband John; brother, Eric Lo er ker and wife Lauren; nieces, Paula Marie Smith, K y mberly Byars Stroup, and Katey Bearden; nephews, Sam Byars, Christian Bearden, and Zachery Bearden; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebrations of Maxie's Life will be held Satur day, February 1 8 , 2023, at 1:00PM from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Rydal with Rev. Walter Chris Vasser officiating. The family will receive friends Satur day from 1 2 :00 P M until 1:00PM at the church.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Maxie Dewayne Melton.
