Mrs. Melissa "Lou" Ellis Garland, age 30, of Adairsville, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2019 at Gordon Hospital.

She was born in Cartersville, GA on September 1, 1988, daughter of Richard Owne Augustus Ellis, III and Melissa Darlene Head. She attended Cartersville Outreach Ministries. Melissa found purpose in life being a mother, her children were her everything. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard Owne Augustus Ellis, II and Laverne and Maggie Head.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony "Hank" Garland, children, Coltin Garland, Waylon Garland, and Charlie Garland; stepchildren, Joshua Garland, Justin Garland, and Harisyn Garland; father, Richie and Buffey Jo Ellis; mother, Darlene Head; grandmother, Roxie Wade; brothers, Blake Head and Nicholas Delia; sister, Bridgett Poole; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Mishi Bojczuk officiating. Interment will follow in Kingston Cemetery, Kingston. Pallbearers include Blake Head, Nick Delia, Brandon Berrong, Preston Berrong, Caleb Berrong, Daniel Head, David Head, and Brandon Prather.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
